Straw Bell
updated 01/15/09 01:34PM

Difficulty: easy

Materials:
* Straw bell
* Peat pot
* Dried corn
* Bell
* Stainless steel wire

Description

Poke the wire through the squirrel corn,the peat pot and the straw bell. Finish the wire at the top of the toy in the best way suitable for hanging in your cage, making sure the sharp end does not stick out and is safely tucked away. I used a bit of pvc pipe to cover the wire and after running the wire through the top of the cage and back down, I wrapped it around itself and tucked the end into the pipe. Put a bell on the wire at the bottom of the corn and push the end back into the cob. I always reinforce the clappers on the bell with a bit of wire. This toy lasted Herbie weeks. When he was done the bell and peat pot had just vanished and there was not a single kernel of corn left on the cob.
